Saint Maur des Fossés está rodeado por el río Marne, formando una especie de península. Más que una zona residencial, podría decirse que se trata de un pueblo, con sus mercados al aire libre (uno justo al lado del apartamento todos los sábados y miércoles), su ayuntamiento, sus pequeños centros peatonales con tiendas y restaurantes... Es ideal para andar en bicicleta y ofrece paseos muy agradables, sobre todo a lo largo del río, que está muy bien cuidado y que ofrece actividades acuáticas de distinto tipo. Para ver algunas imágenes basta con poner en Google "bords du Marne".<br />

Ideal para el que quiera tranquilidad a tan sólo 20 minutos de París. La comunicación es excelente y no muy cara, el precio es de aproximadamente 2 euros por billete de RER. Para volver por la noche, a partir de la 1 de la mañana hay un autobús nocturno que sale de París cada hora y que deja a diez minutos del apartamento.
