Hackney Central : North East Central London - Zone 2. I live in a one bedroom garden flat on a lovely quiet Georgian square.
Great local area, full of character, walking distance to Saturday's Broadway Market on London Fields or Sunday's Colombia Rd Flower Market. Good transport links, only a short bus or train journey to Shoreditch, Hoxton, Bethnal Green, Brick Lane (hip East London bar/club scene) or Islington (a million restaurants).
Description of your property
Hackney, Greater London, United Kingdom
Suitable for events
Clapton Square has a charming village feel, and five-storey houses with their original leaded fanlights above the doors, pilasters and roof cornicing. In Hackney, perhaps more than anywhere else in Britain, or even Europe, the messy, unruly inner city has become a desirable commodity. Artists and bankers, squatters and politicians, punks and estate agents, in the last five decades all have moved to Hackney in large numbers, in search of excitement, kindred spirits, affordable property. London's centre of gravity has shifted accordingly. Shoreditch Shopping.
When I first moved to Hackney, by then a relatively well-known and gentrified bit of the borough, most people I knew in richer parts of London had still never heard of my area. Now most of them live there.
