Macerata è una piccola cittadina con un delizioso centro Medievale e tante attrazioni culturali (Palazzo Buonaccorsi, Palazzo Ricci, Museo delle Carrozze).

La perla della città è lo Sferisterio, teatro all’aperto unico al mondo per acustica e bellezza. A Macerata si svolgono un’importante stagione lirica (Macerata Opera Festival) ed un’altrettanto importante rassegna di musica (Musicultura).

Macerata is located on a hill 315 meters above sea level in the valley of the river power in the north and south of the river Chienti, is located 25 km west of the Adriatic sea and about 40 km Umbria-Marche Apennines (Monti Sibillini National Park). The house is located in the heart of the Marche, a region with beautiful landscapes within a few kilometers declines from mountain to sea. Macerata is a small town with a lovely medieval center and many cultural attractions (Buonaccorsi Palazzo, Palazzo Ricci, Coach Museum).

The jewel of the city is the Sferisterio, unique open-air theater for sound and beauty. A Macerata play an important opera season (Macerata Opera Festival) and an equally important music festival (Musicultura).

Surroundings

In the central Piazza della Libertà is the Loggia dei Mercanti with two-tier arcades dating from the Renaissance. There are a number of striking palazzi, mostly along Corso Matteotti, including Palazzo dei diamanti. Next to the Loggia dei Mercanti, Corso della Repubblica leads to Piazza Vittorio Veneto where, in the Palazzo Ricci, there is a modern art gallery. In July and August the Sferisterio Opera Festival is held in the 2,500 seat Arena Sferisterio. It is a huge neoclassical arena erected in the 1820s as a stadium for a form of handball.

The climate is both Mediterranean and Continental. The Adriatic Sea (about 30 km away) and particularly the Appennine mountains influence the weather.

Near the city of Macerata you can visit the enchanting medieval villages enjoying the extraordinary culinary products that this beautiful region has to offer. Contrada Botonto is a wildlife and hunting is prohibited. For this reason it is not difficult to see beautiful animals .
